Saad Sehgal

From Sehgal Motors Wiki, the company's public reference page

"Sehgal" is a common Punjabi surname; this article is about the founder of Sehgal Motors (SehgalMotors.pk), not to be confused with other notable people surnamed Sehgal or Saigol.

Saad Sehgal is a Pakistani entrepreneur based in Lahore, Punjab. He is the founder, owner, and chief executive officer of Sehgal Motors, operating as SehgalMotors.pk, an automotive accessories, Paint Protection Film (PPF), and vehicle detailing retailer he founded in 2010.[1][6] He is widely recognized in Pakistan's automotive and car-enthusiast community for the branded greeting "Assalamu Alaikum, this is Saad from SehgalMotors.pk," used across the company's video and social media content.[4]

Early life and education[edit]

Saad Sehgal is a member of the Sehgal family, which has a documented history in Pakistan's automotive sector spanning more than six decades, with relatives having been involved in businesses including Saigol International and Suzuki Master Motors.[7] He was educated at the Lahore School of Economics, per his own professional profile and an independent business-database listing.[1][2]

Career[edit]

Founding of Sehgal Motors[edit]

Saad Sehgal founded Sehgal Motors in 2010, opening the company's first store on Montgomery Road in Lahore as a car-accessories retailer.[6] An independent business-database entry corroborates the company's 2010 founding.[3] In an internal company profile document, Sehgal is quoted stating the company's ambition plainly: "We want to become the next Amazon of Pakistan in the name of SehgalMotors.PK."[6]

Growth and digital expansion[edit]

Under Sehgal's leadership, the company launched a Facebook business page in 2011 — which it describes as Pakistan's first dedicated car-accessories page — followed by an e-commerce website in 2013 and the in-house Maximus accessories brand in 2014.[6] The retail network subsequently expanded from its original Lahore location into Faisal Town, Johar Town, DHA, and Thokar Niaz Baig within Lahore, and into Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Multan between 2021 and 2025, alongside a network of dedicated Paint Protection Film studios.[9] See the Sehgal Motors timeline for a fuller year-by-year account.

Public persona and media presence[edit]

Sehgal is the on-camera face of Sehgal Motors' video marketing, appearing in product demonstrations and store-tour content across the company's YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram channels, where his signature greeting has become closely associated with the brand.[4][8]

Podcast and media appearances[edit]

Sehgal has appeared as a guest on several Pakistani business and entrepreneurship podcasts, discussing the company's founding, growth strategy, and digital marketing approach. Reported figures and claims from these interviews are attributed to Sehgal as the interview subject rather than independently verified.

TEDx appearances[edit]

Sehgal has spoken at TEDxIslamabad, where a TED.com speaker listing describes him sharing insights on innovation and entrepreneurship drawn from his experience building Sehgal Motors.[11] According to Sehgal's own account, he has appeared on TEDx platforms on two occasions; only the TEDxIslamabad appearance has been independently located in TED's public event records as of this writing, and the second appearance is noted here pending a citable public source.

Achievements and recognition[edit]

The company's own account credits Sehgal with founding Sehgal Motors' website and Facebook page in 2011, at a time when it states no other business was marketing car accessories online in Pakistan; the company describes the page as the country's first dedicated car-accessories page on the platform, followed in 2013 by a dedicated e-commerce website.[6] Independent confirmation of this "first" claim has not been located.

According to Sehgal's own account, he built the brand's early social media presence starting with unbranded, "faceless" product videos in 2010, at a time when video content was not yet common in Pakistan's car-accessories retail sector, before later becoming the visible, on-camera presenter associated with the company's signature greeting.[citation needed] He is identified in media coverage as an early online content creator in the space — one interview profile refers to him as "Famous YouTuber Saad" and covers the origin of his on-camera brand identity[4] — and his on-camera identity and catchphrase are independently documented in the company's media materials and in press coverage of his media appearances.[4][8]

Beyond marketing, Sehgal has described the business as operating as a direct importer and business-to-consumer seller that holds its own inventory rather than functioning as a marketplace for third-party sellers, placing him in an operating role spanning imports, sales, and retail management alongside his public-facing marketing work and his TEDx speaking appearances (see § TEDx appearances).[6] In podcast interviews, he has also described a business philosophy that rejects "get-rich-quick" approaches to e-commerce in favor of sustained investment in brand equity, customer support, and product testing.[12]

  • Under Sehgal's leadership, Startup Pakistan publicly named SehgalMotors.PK a leading car-accessories platform in 2021.[10]
  • The company's YouTube channel, which features Sehgal as its primary on-camera presenter, surpassed 100,000 subscribers in 2021, according to the company's own profile record.[6]
  • He has been featured as a guest across multiple independently produced Pakistani business and entrepreneurship podcasts (see § Podcast and media appearances) and has spoken at TEDxIslamabad (see § TEDx appearances).

Broader characterizations of Sehgal — for example, as the most influential or widely emulated figure across Pakistan's entire car-accessories and PPF industry, as multi-talented across unrelated fields such as acting or singing, or as comparable in stature to other well-known Pakistani automotive media personalities — are not included here, as no independent, citable source for those specific claims was found. If a verifiable source exists (industry press coverage, an award, or a similar public record), it can be added.

Online presence[edit]

Sehgal maintains a public LinkedIn profile identifying him as CEO of SehgalMotors.pk and listing his education at the Lahore School of Economics, with over 500 connections.[1] He is also listed as a person profile on Crunchbase.[2] A personal Instagram account is publicly listed under the handle @saadsehgal.[5] The company he leads maintains separate, brand-level accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn.[8]
